The Man – Vikram Bawa

Honestly, I didn’t know who Vikram Bawa was until 30 minutes before I met him. I confused him with someone else and on my way to his studio, quickly called up my friend who was working with me on our project on women and body image issues.

She told me of just one picture and I could recall him. That photograph was from a diptych titled – The Man –

What remained with me about the picture then and now is the sheer androgynous beauty about it. He is a man (for sure!) but the jewellery and the graceful pose gives a feminine feel and reminds of the Ardhanarishvara – “the lord who is half woman” – Shiva.

After walking in to his studio, this was what started the conversation between us and it still goes on hopefully not to end ever!

Wink ;)

Looking at photos of pretty looking models is a great way to pass time.
Especially if they wink at you

Though sometimes they can scream back at you..

Cinemagraphs! A new, fun way forward in photography..

The gorgeous woman called Priyanka Chopra

If these pictures of Priyanka can make my heart skip a beat, I can only imagine what they must be doing to all the guys out there.

I love the blue corsette dress she is wearing, her watch, her heels, everything. And oh, can someone please tell me where I could get those earrings from? It’s pictures like these that make me wish I was a photographer. Vikram has absolutely beautifully captured this gorgeous woman..

Even though they were shot a while back, I can see them again n again.. Hope the men “ENJOY” the pics.

Please tell everyone!

With recognition comes responsibility – responsibility of being original and better than before.

Considering the views we have been getting on the blog, YouTube and Facebook, for the films/videos and other work, I wanted to thank all of you for your appreciation on behalf of the Team Vikram Bawa.

And since you all like the work we have been doing, please tell everyone about us. Unlike the name of our yet another film – Don’t Tell Anyone!

Always rushing

We are always in a hurry to do things and reach places. Always in a hurry to eat the cake, but never to smell the beautiful aroma while it is being baked. Always in a hurry to catch the bus, but never being able to enjoy the long ride to work.

In the midst of all this running around comes this beautiful video DHAIRYA, like a breath of fresh air to me.

Direction and Photography by Vikram Bawa.

The video is slow. Takes its own sweet time. Relaxes my nerves. I personally love the music. Today, most of the music I hear is noise, but definitely not this one.

Check out this video and let us know how you like it. Some of you might already have seen it. For those of you who haven’t , please enjoy Vikram Bawa’s direction and Model Nibedita Karmakar’s poise, in all its glory. Make up artist Jaspreet Ghai and hair stylist Leena deserve a special mention for their hard work and creativity.

And let us not forget Aditi Sarda, the heart of the films department, without who we would be as good as headless chickens.

Enjoy the video.

Long before super hits like Band Baaja Baarat, Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl, Rab ne Bana di Jodi…

In Vikram Bawa’s own words…It was great to work with today’s star Anushka Sharma.

image

Vikram had shot her years back when Anushka had started as a model, and recently, after her becoming a big star. It was for the HELLO magazine cover.

image

Vikram and Anushka have seen each other grow in the industry. I can only imagine how great a feeling that must be.

image

These pictures remind me of just that. There are many people around, when one is at the top. The ones who are there when you are not, are the ones who really matter.

When Bachchan Sr. graced our lens

“Vijay Deenanath Chauhan…poora Naam..”..these words have been stuck in my memory forever. The man, Amitabh Bachchan, is one of a kind. When he speaks, people listen, and that is exactly what I did. Listened to him every waking moment of my childhood, because my father was a fan of him. You could say that my love for Mr. Bachchan was passed on to me by my father.

Even in silence, he speaks volumes. These images were shot for HELLO magazine, and we can say with pride that we have been fortunate to have these memories, and the wonderful pictures created by Vikram, with us forever.

The gorgeous Dia Mirza

One of the most beautiful women shot for HELLO magazine. The designers were the supremely talented Shantanu and Nikhil. It was awesome every step of the way, with Avantika and Riti from the magazine being the most supportive clients ever. It was shot at the Four Seasons, Mumbai.

Still one of the most beautiful shoots.

Such beauty is hard to come by, so treat your eyes, They must be tired after the day’s hard work. 🙂

The Sexy Shetty Sisters

Shilpa Shetty and Shamita Shetty are two of the few sisters who are equally beautiful, sexy and graceful.
Vikram has shot Shilpa a number of times but at a recent shoot with Shamita, we found her to be as much a perfectionist as her sister. The fitness freak that she is and the way she sticks to her schedule religiously is commendable.
We have been lucky to have shot small films with both the sisters. Take a break, sit back and savour.

Renovation – The Epiphany

Vikram Bawa had an epiphany about giving the studio a fresh new look, to revitalize the ENERGY FLOW in the studio and TEAM VB.

In reality, it was mostly energy getting out, raw muscle power used to lift up heavy tables, background rolls and the huge ‘casket’ that housed these rolls.

It was some day…where all of us wore our clean-up hats and started doing the assigned chores. Each and every person, big or small, was sweating it out. From nuts and bolts to shards of wood flying, it was chaos at its best.

It was like building a home to live together. We all took ownership for it, and the positive energy had already begun flowing in.
